Studio Branding & Portrait Session with Aleisha
Aleisha came into the studio for a custom portrait and branding session, and from the very beginning, the goal was to create a collection of images that reflected every part of who she is — wife, mom, entrepreneur, and movie producer.
To start the day, Aleisha had her hair styled at my local salon, followed by professional makeup by Rachel, my incredibly talented makeup artist. Professional hair and makeup make a huge difference in how a session feels and photographs, and it set the tone for a confident, elevated experience right from the start.
One of the things I love most about in-studio sessions is the ability to design multiple looks that feel cohesive while still offering lots of variety. For Aleisha’s session, we created four distinct looks using six outfits across three different backdrops, each chosen intentionally to complement her features, style, and personality.
We began with my warm gray truffle backdrop, which is especially flattering for warm skin tones. This setup was perfect for classic headshots that feel polished, confident, and approachable.
Next, we shifted into a completely different mood. Aleisha changed into a black leather jacket, white t-shirt, and black leather pants, and we created darker, moodier portraits that feel bold, powerful, and fierce.
From there, we moved into a bright, white, backlit setup for a totally opposite look. Using my white leather couch, we captured clean, light-filled headshots, then switched to a casual outfit with jeans and a white t-shirt for fresh, relaxed images that feel modern and effortless.
To finish the session, I brought out my dark canvas backdrop for a final creative look. Aleisha wore a show-stopping outfit from a local designer — a hot pink tank top paired with a black belted tulle skirt and her leather jacket. For this part of the session, movement was key. Dancing, laughing, and letting her playful side come through resulted in images full of joy, confidence, and personality.
This is exactly why I design sessions the way I do. You’re not just one thing, and your portraits shouldn’t be either. A thoughtfully planned studio session allows us to create images that truly reflect who you are, both professionally and personally.
If you’re looking for portraits that go beyond a single look and tell your story with intention, get in touch! I’d love to work with you.
