Legacy Photo Restoration
Repairing your damaged photos to help you preserve your family legacy.
Old photographs carry more than an image. They carry a person, a moment, sometimes the only picture left of someone who mattered. When that photo is torn, faded, water damaged, or stuck to glass, it can feel like losing them twice.
I've been retouching and restoring photographs since the early 1980s, starting with ink and brush before digital tools existed. I bring that same hand and eye to restoring your family photos today, working carefully with damage that goes beyond what an app or quick filter can fix.
This work is personal to me too. I've spent the last while cataloguing and restoring my own mother's photo collection, so I understand exactly what it means to hold a cracked, faded piece of your family's history and want it whole again.
Pricing
Simple — $15 to $40 per photo Minor scratches, dust, light fading, basic color correction, a small crease.
Moderate — $40 to $100 per photo A combination of flaws such as fading, scratches, and creases together, colorizing a black and white photo, or moderate staining.
Complex — $100 to $250+ per photo Severe damage including torn or missing sections, water or mold damage, or rebuilding parts of a face or clothing that have been lost.
Specialty — custom quote, $150 to $350+ Composite or merge work joining two separate photos into one scene, photos stuck to glass requiring careful scan-through preservation, or damaged multi-generation group photos.
Turnaround time varies by project, quoted after I see the photo.
How It Works
Send me a scan or a clear photo of your damaged print by email, along with anything you can tell me about it. If you're local to Calgary and would rather drop the original off, that works too, especially for photos that are fragile, stuck to glass, or better handled in person.
I'll look it over and let you know which tier it falls into and what to expect. Once you approve, I get to work. You'll receive your restored image as a digital download, ready to print, share, or pass down.
